Meet Our Team

Island Dog Rescue Adoption Network is led by a small, highly aligned leadership team with experience in business, rescue, animal care, and adoption. Each role is distinct, but our work is intentionally interconnected. Successful rescue doesn’t end at transport or adoption; it continues through lifelong support.

Our Leadership

Executive Director

Jennifer Myers
Jennifer leads Island Dog Rescue Adoption Network to expand lifesaving adoption opportunities for dogs rescued from Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. With years of hands-on management experience, she provides strategic leadership, oversees partnerships and compliance, and ensures the organization remains grounded in ethical rescue practices, transparency, and long-term impact.

Adoption & Volunteer Director

Trish Zimmerman
With more than 20 years of experience in animal rescue, Trish leads our adoption and volunteer programs with a focus on thoughtful placements and long-term success. She specializes in building strong foster teams, streamlining adoption pathways, and creating engaged alumni communities that support dogs well beyond adoption day. Trish works closely with fosters, adopters, and partners to ensure every placement is ethical, informed, and built to last.

Animal Care Director

Megan Taylor
Megan brings years of hands-on veterinary experience and specialized training to her role as Animal Care Director. She oversees all aspects of animal care from intake through adoption, with a strong focus on medical oversight, recovery, and ongoing wellness while dogs are in foster homes. Megan also leads post-adoption care initiatives, including spay and neuter follow-up programs, ensuring continuity of care well beyond placement.

How We Work in Alignment

Our leadership team operates as a unified system, not in silos. Decisions are made collaboratively, with the dog’s welfare and the adopter’s success as the shared priority.

  • Rescue & Care Alignment: Medical and behavioral needs identified during rescue directly inform foster placement, adoption readiness, and post-adoption support.

  • Adoption & Support Continuity: Adopters are never handed off. Our team remains engaged after adoption to provide guidance, medical follow-up, and resources.

  • Foster-Centered Model: Foster families are treated as essential partners, supported by clear communication, training, and coordinated care plans.

  • Lifelong Responsibility: From intake to alumni engagement, we believe rescue organizations carry responsibility well beyond adoption day.

Together, this aligned approach allows Island Dog Rescue Adoption Network to create sustainable, ethical, and successful outcomes—for dogs and the families who love them.

“When care, adoption, and support move together, dogs don’t just find homes—they thrive in them.”

Foster Families

Our foster families are at the heart of Island Dog Rescue Adoption Network. By opening their homes, they give rescue dogs a safe place to rest, heal, and learn what it means to be part of a family. Fosters work closely with our Animal Care and Adoption teams, supporting medical care, observing behavior, and helping each dog prepare for a successful adoption.

Fostering doesn’t just save lives—it changes them. A foster home gives a dog comfort, stability, and a second chance at trust.

Volunteers

Our volunteers are the heart and momentum behind Island Dog Rescue Adoption Network. From transport support and medical follow-ups to administrative help, events, outreach, and behind-the-scenes coordination, volunteers help turn compassion into action every single day.

Working alongside our leadership team and foster families, volunteers ensure dogs receive consistent care and adopters feel supported at every step. Whether you’re helping hands-on or behind the scenes, your time and energy directly change lives.
